The project involved the complete strip out and reconstruction of the interior of the building from basement through to the fourth floor, and included a new second floor restaurant area at the rear of the building.

The building was completely rebuilt internally, incorporating new staircases, new restaurant areas, new toilets and major structural alterations at all levels.

P+R Associates were responsible for obtaining all permissions, including Planning Permission and Building Regulations consent, and permissions from adjoining owners, landlords, and the Fire Officer.

As architects for the project, we worked closely with the Italian interior designers, who carried out the fit-out of the project after we had completed the structural works.

The project was managed by the Biagio Restaurant Group but P+R Associates had a watching brief with ongoing consultation during construction.

This refurbishment sees the implementation of a new restaurant and coffee bar concept imported from Italy, where the building is divided into two,   to provide a coffee bar on the ground floor and basement, with restaurant on the first and second floors.

As part of the project, the catering kitchen was significantly enlarged, and all the kitchen equipment re-installed in the new kitchen area.
