Conversion of an existing derelict house into four new flats.

In Depth

This listed building was purchased by our clients in a very poor state of repair, with substantial parts of the roof collapsed after a major attack of dry rot. Most of the stucco was missing from the external elevations, and the building was suffering from subsidence from a large “preserved” tree only 2m from the rear wall.

We rehabilitated the whole of the building, including reinstatement of external stucco, new roofs, new pillars and gates.

Internally, the building was stripped back to brickwork and all the rotten timbers were removed, following which the building was completely rehabilitated, replastered, and new kitchens and bathrooms were provided throughout.

Special features included split level kitchens, ornate ceiling centres and cornices, and the bow windows to the garden being converted into french doors, for which Listed Building Consent was granted by the London Borough of Camden.
