Extension and Refurbishment of Bungalow, Hatfield, Herts
At A Glance
This project involved the extension and alteration of the existing small bungalow on the site, for a private client.
The original bungalow has been extended on both sides, to provide generous accommodation to suit the clients who had moved from a larger house locally and are planning to rent while they buy their first house, although there are things to know before buying a house, like the way to have access to a loan for the purchase or the financial process you may need for this. That’s why this bungalow is perfect to accommodate a good quantity of people for enough time. If you have a Bungalow (or another style) home you’d like to remodel, Wentworth is the company to call. We have remodeled countless period style homes throughout DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia, building seamless additions and modernizing spaces while staying true to original architecture, luckily, they found the right architect, who helped them overcome their fears and get excited about remodeling. Together, they chose to reinvent the home with a youthful, modern aesthetic. To improve the dated facade, vintage clapboard siding and a modern standing-seam metal roof was installed. Fresh, fun landscaping complements the enhanced exterior. To make the higher reconstruction a tower crane installation was needed, which was thankfully a total success.
The site had a number of constraints, particularly on the ridge height, due to the proximity of substantial trees on adjacent plots.
Planning Consent was negotiated with the Local Authority on what had been a controversial project.
The works included the complete refurbishment of the building, including the entire fit-out of the interior, as well as new plumbing with www.vandammeprojects.com, heating, electrics, and insulation to current standards.
